The one-of-a-kind, low-fired vessel is made by artist Grace (Gracia) Alzamora. The vessel demonstrates how Grace looks to ancient techniques in the creation of her work. The enhanced influences of the past are visible in the patternation and texture of each piece which derive from the burnt ash and pit-firing. The blend of organic natural materials such as saw-dust, seaweed and pine-needles create the smoke which dictates the intricate and unique markings.
