Shipping and Delivery
This policy explains how your piece is delivered and what we need from you. It forms part of our Terms of Sale, which take precedence if there is any difference.
Delivery services
Your quotation states the delivery service included: kerbside, room of choice, or delivery with installation. Any other service is quoted separately. Delivery and installation are charged separately unless your quotation states otherwise.
Delivery and installation are carried out by independent specialist contractors appointed by us, each holding their own public liability insurance. Any claim for damage to your property arising during delivery or installation is made against the contractor and their insurer, and we will give you their details and assist you with the claim.
Lead times
Lead times are estimates and run from the date your order is confirmed. They depend on the availability of stone and workshop capacity at the time of your order. We will confirm your delivery date once your piece is complete and the balance has been paid.
Site access is your responsibility
Site access is your sole responsibility. Before placing your order you must check and measure the full delivery route and satisfy yourself that your piece can reach its final position. By making payment you confirm that you have carried out these checks. Collection Noir accepts no responsibility for any access restriction at your property or building.
Before you order
- Measure every door, hallway, turn and stairwell on the route.
- Measure each lift's internal dimensions and confirm its load rating.
- Confirm that the floors on the route and in the final position can bear the weight of the piece. Stone pieces are heavy and delivered crated; if in doubt, please consult your architect or structural engineer.
- Ask us for the crated dimensions and weight of your piece.
Before delivery
- Obtain every consent needed from your building management, landlord or concierge, including service lift bookings, loading bay slots, permitted delivery hours and any insurance certificates or method statements they require.
- Send us these details at least 10 working days before delivery.
- Arrange parking and road access, including any parking suspensions or permits.
On the day
- The route must be clear and the area where the piece will be placed must be ready.
- Any floor protection you require must be in place.
- For installations, the room must be clean, dry, secure and free of other trades.
If delivery cannot be completed
If your piece cannot be delivered or installed because of an access restriction, whether physical or imposed by others, your order remains binding and all sums remain payable. You will pay every resulting cost, including the failed attempt, return transport, storage and re-delivery. Access restrictions are not grounds for cancellation, refund or return.
Where access requires hoisting, craning, window or door removal, or specialist handling, this will be quoted separately and is payable by you.
The team may decline any part of a delivery they consider unsafe. If you ask them to proceed against their advice, you will be asked to sign a waiver, and neither Collection Noir nor the team will be responsible for resulting damage.
The team will wait up to 30 minutes on arrival; further waiting time is charged at the cost to us.
Rearranging delivery and storage
You may rearrange a delivery by giving at least 5 working days' notice. Later changes are charged at the cost to us.
Completed pieces are stored free of charge for 14 days after we tell you your piece is ready. After that, storage is charged at £50 per week, together with a one-off handling fee of 1.2% of the order value, payable before delivery.
Inspection on delivery
Please inspect your piece on delivery and note any visible damage on the delivery note before the team leaves. Tell us of any damage within 48 hours of delivery at info@collectionnoir.com, with photographs of the piece and its packaging. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Risk in your piece passes to you on delivery to the agreed address. Ownership passes once we have received payment in full.
International orders
For delivery outside the United Kingdom, we will quote delivery separately. International orders are shipped Delivery Duty Unpaid: import duties, taxes and customs charges in the destination country are payable by you, and we are not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance. We recommend checking the likely charges with your local customs authority before ordering.
